Opening in late 2018 and located at Queens Quay and Lower Jarvis, Artscape Daniels Launchpad will be a 30,000 square foot, one-stop art and design entrepreneurship hub that provides affordable access to technology and tools of the trade, reframes entrepreneurship for creative people through innovative programming and offers a gateway to services, funding, business opportunities and more.

This role is responsible for the administrative, logistical and operational support for Launchpad’s programs and events, as well outreach through building and maintaining participant and alumni engagement.

Responsibilities

  • • Providing logistical support to the program team in order to ensure program activities run efficiently and effectively, including tasks such as: scheduling and procuring refreshments, scheduling and arranging transportation, arranging and negotiating facilitator and participant coordination, booking rooms, keeping accurate and organized documentation, evaluating event successes and points of improvement
  • • Acts as primary participant contact
  • • Plans and executes registration, technical set-up, and basic operational duties for projects and events taking place in locations across the GTA and southern Ontario
  • • Work collaboratively with Launchpad team to adhere all programming, bookings, receptions, and events to Launchpad’s event policies and requirements
  • • Monitoring program targets outlined by partners, maintaining the critical path of all outreach and program initiatives, and keeping staff advised of internal and external expectations
  • • With the Director, Launchpad Programs, and the finance department, provides input on program budgets, processes payments, and issues invoices and receipts
  • • Utilizing input from the marketing team, ensures programming and events are aligned to marketing initiatives and arranges the creation and distribution of program materials (both physical and digital
  • • Coordinating speakers and special guest arrangements including timing, presentations and payment
  • • With the Director, programming the alumni experience
  • • Maintaining program equipment for learning events

Requirements/Qualifications

  • Must have a university undergrad in a related sector
  • Demonstrated passion for creative industries, creative entrepreneurship, art and design, culture and community building
  • 2-3 years of experience in programming, events, producing and/or project management
  • Ability to multi-task effectively and coordinate multiple projects concurrently as well as respond quickly to changing priorities
  • High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office (excel, word and PowerPoint)
  • Good budget management skills
  • Experienced in the usage of databases and/or Salesforce
  • Excellent communication, collaboration and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking skills
  • Strong analytical skills and good judgement
  • Ability to trouble-shoot and solve problems
  • Is flexible, including work schedule

Member Advisor

Opening in late 2018 and located at Queens Quay and Lower Jarvis, Artscape Daniels Launchpad will be a 30,000 square foot, one-stop art and design entrepreneurship hub that provides affordable access to technology and tools of the trade, reframes entrepreneurship for creative people through innovative programming and offers a gateway to services, funding, business opportunities and more.

This new role is integral to Launchpad’s member experience and operational excellence. Launchpad is seeking a Member Advisor to help support the execution of a membership campaign with a goal of reaching of 1,000 plus Launchpad members by early November, and, upon opening, to serve as an advisor to help Launchpad’s creative members to thrive.

The ideal candidate will have exceptional customer service experience plus a genuine interest in the creative arts to help grow the Artscape Daniels Launchpad brand into a successful and highly-regarded name. This is an opportunity to play a critical role in the development and expansion of this ground-breaking cultural sector project in Toronto.

Objectives

  • Serve as primary point of contact for Launchpad members.
  • Uphold the mission and values of Launchpad and serve as a positive brand enthusiast.
  • Drive member growth and awareness of Launchpad services, products and programs.

Responsibilities

  • Develops and tracks written and verbal communications with prospects during the membership sales cycle with the intent to convert interested parties into paying members.
  • Creates process and delivers onboarding for all members from application through to payment, activation of membership and orientation.
  • Responds to member inquiries and maintains the highest standards of customer care and guidance around Launchpad membership and building operations.
  • Develops understanding of the Launchpad member journey as well as the suite of services and resources available at Launchpad to help members identify benefits specific to their creative discipline.
  • Upsells members on access to relevant studio training, mentorship and Artscape learning programs.
  • Works with stakeholders to identify and guide members towards collaboration opportunities within Launchpad as well as externally in the greater Toronto creative community

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications

  • Post-secondary diploma or degree preferred
  • Minimum 2+ years’ experience in a customer service capacity (e.g., retail, hospitality)
  • Fluent in English with excellent communication skills
  • Technologically adept; experience with a CRM system (e.g., Salesforce) an asset
  • Independent and self-motivated
  • Superb attention to detail while multitasking
  • Ability to easily build relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Ability to resolve conflicts in a professional, tactful manner
