A Conversation With Es Devlin
HXOUSE recently presented A Conversation with Es Devlin, an exclusive opportunity for members of the public and Launchpad to hear from the award-winning set designer discuss her art, design process and creative journey.
Over two hours Es shared insights into her process – how to create it, learning to trust it and the importance of questioning it.
Es Devlin is a London-based artist and designer whose practice ranges from solo gallery works to collaborations in live music, dance and theatre. Her most recent work utilizes kinetic sculptural forms, mapping light and projected film onto them. She has collaborated with Beyoncé, Kanye West, The Weekend, U2, Jay Z and Adele. She designed both the London Olympic Closing Ceremony and the Rio Olympic Opening Ceremony. Es has been awarded the 2017 London Design Medal and three Oliver Awards including Evening Standard, Critics’ Circle and Wall Street Journal Innovation Award in 2016.
This event was held at Artscape Daniels Launchpad as part of the HXOUSE x Launchpad partnership.
