ICC Welcomes 60 New Canadian Citizens at Launchpad
On January 29th Artscape Daniels Launchpad hosted a Community Citizenship Ceremony in collaboration with the Institute for Canadian Citizenship (ICC) and Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).
Community Citizenship Ceremonies celebrate Canada’s newest citizens and offers unique opportunities to reflect on what it means to be Canadian. Judge Hardish Dhaliwal, a Citizenship Judge ushered in 60 individuals as new Canadian citizens during an exciting and emotional event in Launchpad’s Sugar Hall.
The day started with roundtable discussions on what it means to be an active and engaged citizen led by community leaders from Toronto’s arts, technology and education communities. The ceremonies wrapped up with a bilingual anthem performance from 15-year-old singer, Roohi Devje.
Launchpad would like to thank the ICC and IRCC for bringing this event to life within Launchpad. We look forward to opportunities to engage these new Canadians in the years to come.
