RBC Launchpad Music Entrepreneurship Program - FAQ
- Who can apply?
Any emerging professional in the music industry, such as a producer, instrumentalist, vocalist, rapper, songwriter, music manager, engineer, promoter, cultural curator, event planner, DJ, publisher. This program is targeted towards emerging professionals looking for mentorship and looking to grow their career in the music industry. What qualifies as “emerging” is a professional with little to no publication in mainstream media.
- Is there an age requirement?
Minimum age of 19 years old since there will be paid performance opportunities. Maximum age is 35.
- What are the eligibility criteria?
Participants will be selected based on level of professional ambition, demonstration of entrepreneurial spirit, music business organization capabilities, and level of engagement with previous activities.
- Is it free?
The program is free-of-charge.
- When I will hear back?
Selected participants will be contacted after after January 25th.
- How can I get involved until then?
Share on social media and invite your friends to upcoming events that are open to the public.
- How long is the program?
Mandatory program will last 4 months but some events might continue into June 2020.
- How many workshops and events will the program have? Do I need to attend them all?
Each cohort will have on average 20 events, including workshops, panels, mentor’s coffees and additional performance opportunities might be added. To successfully complete the program you must attend at least 80% of the program.
- Can I apply again for the 2nd cohort if I am not selected for the 1st one?
No, you can apply only once.
- Do I need to be a member?
First cohort starting in January 2020 is designed for Launchpad bursary recipients and members. Second cohort starting in February is open to the public.
